"Hallelujah" is the fourth studio album by the American blues rock band Canned Heat, released in 1969. Following their chart-topping success with the single "Going Up the Country," the band aimed to produce an album with a more polished sound. The original members of the band - Bob Hite, Alan Wilson, Henry Vestine, Larry Taylor, and Adolfo de la Parra - contributed to this album.
"Hallelujah" blends traditional blues, boogie, and rock styles and includes covers as well as original compositions. Noteworthy tracks include "Change My Ways," a Wilson penned tune that marked a shift towards a more country blues style, and a reworked version of Charley Patton's "Pony Blues."
Considered one of the band's stronger albums, "Hallelujah" marked the height of their popularity. Despite subsequent lineup changes and the deaths of key members, Canned Heat continues to perform and release albums, preserving their part in American music history.
