"Todd Rundgren's Utopia" is the debut album by the American rock band Utopia, released in October 1974 on Bearsville Records. The band was formed by musician, songwriter, and producer Todd Rundgren in 1973 as a way to explore progressive rock, moving away from his pop-oriented rock roots. The group consisted of six members, including three keyboardists, and they began touring extensively.
The album features mostly studio recordings, with the exception of the opening track "Utopia," which was recorded live during a concert on April 25th, 1974.
