"Peace Sign" released in 1994 on Avenue Records (distributed by Rhino Records), is indeed titled with a graphic of the peace symbol. It's commonly known as "Peace Sign," though its official title is simply represented by the peace symbol. This album marked War's return with new material after over a decade without a non-compilation release. It featured most of the living original members, with notable guest appearances and contributions from former members.
The lineup on this album toured to support its release but disbanded in 1996 due to conflicts over ownership of the band's name with producer Jerry Goldstein. Afterward, Goldstein formed a new iteration of War with Lonnie Jordan as the sole remaining original member.
A 12-inch single for "Peace Sign" was released with multiple versions, and the album included a re-recording of "I'm the One (Who Understands)" from their earlier work. José Feliciano also appeared as a guest on the track "East L.A.".
