Status Quo

"On the Level" is the eighth studio album by British rock band Status Quo. It was released on 21 February 1975. Known for its blend of hard rock and psychedelic flavor, this album marked the band's continued movement to a more characteristic boogie-oriented sound. The album reached the top of the UK Album Charts and was significant commercial success for the band. Among the tracks included in the album, the lead single "Down Down," is one of the band's biggest hits, having topped the UK Singles Chart. Other notable tracks such as "Bye Bye Johnny," "What to Do," and "Where I Am" provide a comprehensive showcase of the musical styles and capability of the band. The album has a total of 10 tracks and runs for approximately 40 minutes. It was produced by Status Quo and was released under the Vertigo label. Despite its commercial success and its place in the hearts of fans, "On the Level" would be the last Status Quo album produced by the group. However, it stands as a testament to the band's musical mastery and a pivotal moment in their illustrious career. A remastered version of the album, complete with bonus tracks, was released in 2005.
