Status Quo

1+9+8+2 is the fifteenth studio album by the English rock band Status Quo. It was released on 16 April 1982 and is the band's last album to be produced by Pip Williams, marking the end of the band's association with producer Pip Williams, which stretched back to their 1977 album, Rockin' All Over the World. It reached number 1 in the UK Albums Chart and retained its position for a total of six weeks, becoming one of the band's most successful albums. It includes the hit singles "Dear John" and "She Don't Fool Me", which peaked at number 10 and number 36 in the UK singles chart, respectively. The album features guest appearances from Bernie Frost and Bob Young. Lyrically, the songs exhibit a wide variety of themes, including romance, heartbreak, and introspection. It is often considered as one of the best albums by Status Quo. The album was named after the year of the band's formation, which was 1962 when the digits were added up. The album cover, featuring the band members in a cold storage room, was photographed at a meat factory close to Shepperton Studios.
