Status Quo

"If You Can't Stand the Heat..." is the eleventh studio album by English rock band Status Quo. Recorded at Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, Holland, and produced by Pip Williams, the album was released in October 1978 and reached number three on the UK Albums Chart. The production utilized the Aphex Aural Exciter, contributing to a more atmospheric sound compared to its predecessor, Rockin' All Over The World. Notably, the album featured a brass section, the David Katz Horns, and a backing vocal trio composed of Jacquie Sullivan, Stevie Lange, and Joy Yates, which was unusual for a Status Quo record. The first single from the album, "Again and Again," reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart. The second single, an edited version of "Accident Prone," peaked at number 36 in the UK.
