Atomic Rooster

"Made in England" marks a significant departure for British rock band Atomic Rooster, known previously for their progressive rock style. Released as their fourth album, it showcased a shift towards funk and soul influences, largely due to the introduction of new vocalist Chris Farlowe. This album features a completely different lineup from their previous effort, "In Hearing of Atomic Rooster", as original members John Du Cann and Paul Hammond had departed due to disagreements over founder Vincent Crane's musical direction. Original copies of the LP in the UK and Germany were packaged in denim sleeves, adding to the album's unique presentation. Later pressings adopted standard art sleeves. In the US, the album was released by Elektra Records in a standard sleeve. A reissue in Germany in 1977 featured yet another new sleeve design and was retitled "This is Atomic Rooster". "Stand by Me" was the sole single released from "Made in England", which achieved moderate success, reaching number 60 on the charts in Canada.
