"Sweet Freedom" is the sixth studio album by English rock band Uriah Heep, released in September 1973 by Bronze Records in the UK and Warner Bros. Records in the US.
The original vinyl release was a gatefold, featuring lyrics and a central page with photographs of each band member.
It marked Uriah Heep's debut album under Warner Bros. in the US, reaching No. 33 on the Billboard 200 chart and achieving gold certification from the RIAA on 5 March 1974.
Retrospective reviews highlight that on "Sweet Freedom," Uriah Heep began to expand their sound, blending progressive complexity with heavy metal intensity.
The album has been remastered and reissued several times, including by Castle Communications in 1996 with two bonus tracks, and in 2004 as an expanded deluxe edition.
