The Rolling Stones

"Flashpoint" is a live album by British rock band The Rolling Stones, the first of their career. Released on 2nd April 1991, it was recorded across Europe and North America during the band's 1989-90 Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle Tours. "Flashpoint" charted at number six in the UK and number 16 in the US, and it's accredited gold by RIAA. The album, while primarily composed of live performances of songs from the band's extensive catalog, also include two studio-recorded tracks: "Highwire" and "Sex Drive." Both tracks were released as singles; the former, a commentary on the Gulf War, reached the Top 60 in the US. "Flashpoint" is also remembered as the last Rolling Stones release to feature original band member Bill Wyman on bass. He left the group in early 1991, shortly after the album's release. In terms of the critical response, the album was met with mixed reviews, with some critics citing the repetitiveness of the band’s choice of songs. Additionally, "Flashpoint" was released with a companion concert film and has been reissued several times since its original release. Despite Wyman's departure, the album continued to establish The Rolling Stones as a powerful force in the rock scene.
