"Under the Gun" is the twelfth studio album by the American country rock band Poco. Released in July 1980, the album served as the follow-up to Poco's successful and critically acclaimed album "Legend".
Under the Gun continued Poco's exploration of country rock and soft rock styles, featuring a blend of upbeat tracks and introspective ballads. The album marked a transitional period for the band, as it was their last studio album with founding member Richie Furay.
The album's sound reflected the band's evolving musical direction, incorporating elements of pop and folk alongside their trademark country rock sound. Despite its solid musical content, "Under the Gun" did not achieve the same commercial success as "Legend". However, it remains a notable entry in Poco's discography for its heartfelt songwriting and polished production.
After the release of Under the Gun, Poco underwent further lineup changes and continued to release music throughout the 1980s and beyond, maintaining their reputation as pioneers of the country rock genre.
