Poco

"Seven" is the seventh studio album by an American country rock band, Poco. Released in 1974, it was the first album they released after the departure of founding member Richie Furay. Despite lacking Furay's renowned talent, the album still features the band's signature harmonious sounds, derived from a mix of country and rock music. "Seven" was an important transitional album as it marked a cut from their traditional country-rock blend, moving towards a more mainstream rock sound. The shift towards more popular music structures could be credited to the addition of new members. It marks the first appearance of drummer Steve Chapman, a new member of the band's lineup. One of the most recognized tracks from the album, "Just For Me and You," was included in their "The Very Best of Poco" compilation, emphasizing its appeal among fans and critics. Despite the considerable changes in the band's lineup, "Seven" was able to maintain the band's popularity. Though it didn't create major waves on the charts, the album is still appreciated for its transitional sound and influence on the band's future direction.
