"From the Inside" is the third studio album by the American country rock band Poco, released in 1971. This album marked the debut of Paul Cotton as the lead guitarist, replacing Jim Messina, who left the band to form a partnership with Kenny Loggins. The band was reportedly dissatisfied with the album after its release.
From the Inside as "Poco's most unusual record," noting that it features a leaner, more stripped-down, and somewhat bluesier sound compared to their previous work. Eder observed that the album has less radiant harmonies and more subdued guitars, resulting in a somewhat lower-key mood. Despite this shift, he found the sound appealing and appreciated the more reflective quality of the singing.
