"Face the Heat" is the twelfth studio album by the German hard rock band Scorpions, released in 1993. Produced by the band alongside Bruce Fairbairn, it marked a shift toward a more political stance with tracks like "Alien Nation," addressing themes related to the reunification of Germany. This album also showcased a contemporary sound that aligned with the trends of the early '90s before the band returned to their classic style in Unbreakable (2004).
Notably, Face the Heat was the last album featuring drummer Herman Rarebell and the first to include Ralph Rieckermann on bass guitar, replacing Francis Buchholz. The song "Under the Same Sun" was featured in the closing credits of the 1994 film On Deadly Ground, while "Alien Nation" was later covered by the Italian heavy metal band Mastercastle. Additionally, "Lonely Nights" was included in the 2017 compilation Born to Touch Your Feelings: Best of Rock Ballads.
