Scorpions

"Savage Amusement" is the tenth studio album by the German rock band Scorpions, released on 16 April 1988. This album marked the band's full departure from their earlier hard rock sound that they had built their career upon, adopting a more commercial heavy metal sound. It is the first Scorpions record to feature drummer Herman Rarebell's lead vocals on the track "Every Minute Every Day". The album was a commercial success and became the Scorpions' highest-charting album in the USA to date, reaching No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, propelled by the hit single "Rhythm of Love". However, it polarized both critics and fans with its stylistic change, and despite respectable sales, couldn't match the commercial impact of its predecessor, "Love at First Sting". "Savage Amusement" would be the last album the Scorpions produced with Dieter Dierks and contains some of their most famous songs including “Passion Rules the Game”, "Believe in Love", and “Don't Stop at the Top”. Post the release of this album, the band was caught in various internal and external turbulences which resulted in an extended hiatus until the release of their subsequent album "Crazy World" in 1990.
