Humble Pie

"On to Victory" is the ninth album by English rock band Humble Pie, released in 1980. After disbanding in 1975, the band was reformed by Steve Marriott in 1979 with a completely new lineup. This album offers a more polished sound than their earlier releases while retaining the boogie-rock features that powered their initial success. The album stands as a resurgence for Humble Pie, following a period of several years without any new recordings. The lead single 'Fool for a Pretty Face', which was co-written by Marriott and newly recruited band vocalist and guitarist, Bobby Tench, reached the No. 52 spot in the US charts. Key tracks on the album include "Infatuation," "Say No More," and "Can’t Believe It," next to the single. It was followed in 1981 by the album "Go for the Throat." The album signifies an important footnote in the band's distinctive history, marking a transitional era where they aimed to regain their rock idiom after a hiatus. Notwithstanding their determination to fightback, as underlined by the album's title, this comeback did not ultimately result in the band reclaiming their previous popularity levels.
