"Passage" is the fifth studio album by the Texan rock band Bloodrock, released in November 1972 on Capitol Records. This album marked a significant lineup change for the band, with Warren Ham joining as the new lead vocalist and flutist, replacing original members Jim Rutledge and Lee Pickens, who departed prior to the album's recording.
Musically, Passage represents a shift for the band, as they moved away from their previous hard rock sound toward a more progressive rock style. This new direction drew comparisons to bands like Jethro Tull, known for their fusion of rock and folk elements, as well as incorporating flute and other acoustic instruments into their arrangements. The change in style signaled the band's attempt to evolve and explore more complex musical textures and compositions.
