Steve Miller

Italian X Rays is the thirteenth studio album by American rock band Steve Miller Band. Released in November 1984, the album marked a departure from the band's previous album, combining elements of 80s new wave and synth-pop. Produced by Steve Miller and Glyn Johns, the album features the single "Who Do You Love?". Background: After experiencing commercial success in the 1970s, the Steve Miller Band started experimenting with their sound in the 1980s. "Italian X Rays" represents this shift, especially in the heavy use of synthesizers and electronic instrumentation, reflecting the popular music trends of the time. Despite these changes, the album did not perform as well commercially compared to previous releases. However, it reaffirmed the band's willingness to experiment and innovate, rather than sticking to a signature sound. The album includes contributions from long-time members Gary Mallaber and Kenny Lee Lewis and also features backing vocals from Tim Davis, a founding member of the band who had left in 1970 but returned for this project.
