Al Stewart

"Time Passages" is Al Stewart's eighth studio album, released in September 1978. It followed his successful 1976 album *Year of the Cat* and, like that album and 1975's Modern Times, was produced by Alan Parsons. The title track of Time Passages became a significant hit, reaching #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart for 10 weeks. Both "Time Passages" and "End of the Day" were co-written with guitarist Peter White. A digitally remastered version of the album was released in 2004. Time Passages features album art designed by the renowned design group Hipgnosis. Storm Thorgerson, in For the Love of Vinyl: The Album Art of Hipgnosis, described the concept for the cover: it depicts a radio being tuned on a kitchen window shelf, metaphorically "tuning" the view of the landscape outside. The front cover photograph was taken at Indian Route 42, Monument Valley, Arizona.
