Dangerous Age is the eighth studio album by the English rock band Bad Company. It was released in August 1988 under Atlantic Records. Produced by Terry Thomas, this marked the band's second album with Brian Howe in replacement of Paul Rodgers as the lead vocalist. The album helped bring the group back into the limelight, featuring powerful, arena-ready rock hits.
The album delivered four singles onto the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart: "No Smoke Without a Fire", "One Night", "Shake it Up", and the ballad "Something About You". The most successful being "No Smoke Without a Fire", which reached No. 4 on the Mainstream Rock chart.
The opening track, "One Night" was described as being hard-rocking and has often been used by the band as an opening song at concerts. The album artwork was designed by Mark Wilkinson who has also worked on album covers for artists such as Judas Priest. Musically, Dangerous Age saw the band delving into a more radio-friendly and polished sound, predominantly featuring elements of hard rock and AOR, shedding much of their previous blues rock identity.
Despite the lineup and stylistic changes, Dangerous Age managed to be well-received by fans and achieved Gold certification in the United States by the RIAA.
