Bad Company

"Fame and Fortune" is the seventh studio album by the British hard rock band Bad Company. The album was released in October 1986 by Atlantic Records. This was the first album by Bad Company to be released on the Atlantic Records label. It marked the return of original band members Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs, and Simon Kirke, with Steve Price on bass. Joe Lynn Turner was initially approached to be the new vocalist for the band but he declined. "Fame and Fortune" was also the first Bad Company album since 1979's "Desolation Angels" not to feature artwork from Hipgnosis as the album cover. The album, however, did not perform well commercially. It only reached number 152 on the Billboard 200, indicating the band's decreased popularity during the period. The album included a single, "This Love," which made the Top 40, and the song "Fame and Fortune." Despite its underwhelming commercial performance, "Fame and Fortune" maintains its historical significance as a critical stepping-stone in Bad Company's discography, showcasing a shift in the band's musical style towards more synthesizers and less bluesy rock.
