Journey

"Look into the Future" is the second studio album by the rock band Journey, released in January 1976 by Columbia Records. For this album, the band made a deliberate shift from the more overtly progressive style of their self-titled debut towards a more focused and streamlined sound. Despite this shift, "Look into the Future" still retains some of the experimental qualities of their first release, particularly evident in tracks like the title song and "I'm Gonna Leave You." One notable inclusion on the album is a cover of The Beatles' "It's All Too Much," originally featured in the 1968 Yellow Submarine film and its 1969 soundtrack. The title track of the album holds the distinction of being the longest recorded Journey song at the time. Rhythm guitarist George Tickner, who co-wrote two songs for the album, left the band shortly after its release. The remaining members at this time included Gregg Rolie on keyboards and lead vocals, Neal Schon on guitar, Ross Valory on bass, and Aynsley Dunbar on drums.
