"Fast Forward" is the 19th studio album by Joe Jackson, released worldwide on October 2, 2015. This project emerged from Jackson's initial idea to create a series of four-track EPs, each focused on a specific city: New York City, Berlin, Amsterdam, and New Orleans. Ultimately, these tracks were combined into a full-length album, with each city's music reflecting its unique character and recorded with different local musicians.
The album includes two covers: a reimagining of Television's "See No Evil" and a rendition of the 1930s German cabaret song "Good Bye Johnny." Jackson teased the album with the release of "A Little Smile" on July 14, 2015, followed by the first single, "Fast Forward," on SoundCloud a month later. The album showcases Jackson's versatility and creativity, capturing the essence of each city through its diverse musical arrangements.
