Kansas

"Audio-Visions" by Kansas, released in 1980, stands as a significant album in the band's discography, reflecting both a period of personal transformation for Kerry Livgren and notable changes within the band. Livgren's conversion to Christianity is evident in tracks like "Hold On," which is highlighted as the band's last Top 40 single with its peak at No. 40. The album also featured "Got to Rock On," which, despite not reaching the Top 40, was released as a promotional 12" single with a live track. The album's promotional and live efforts were notable, including broadcasts like "A Night on the Road," which featured live renditions of almost every track from the album. "No One Together," the eighth track on the album, was a holdover from the previous album "Monolith," reflecting internal band dynamics. "Audio-Visions" was the last album by Kansas to feature the original lineup until their 2000 reunion album, "Somewhere to Elsewhere." It was also the band's final studio album to be certified gold by the RIAA, achieving this status in December 1980. The album's legacy has been preserved through various reissues, including the 2018 180-gram "blue-splatter" translucent vinyl remaster, which features the original artwork and a foldout poster, catering to collectors and fans alike.
