Renaissance

"A Song for All Seasons" is the eighth studio album by the English progressive rock band Renaissance, released in 1978. This album marked the return of electric guitars to the band's music after several years. The song "Northern Lights" reached the top ten on the UK Singles Chart, making it the band's only UK chart single. A shortened version of "Back Home Once Again" was used as the theme song for the short-lived 1977 British TV series The Paper Lads. The track "She Is Love," originally intended for Annie Haslam to sing, was performed by Jon Camp instead because the orchestral backing was recorded in the wrong key for Haslam. Drummer Terry Sullivan received his first songwriting credit on the title track, contributing the basic tune for the song's extended instrumental intro, which was based on a song he had written in 1971. In 2019, Esoteric Recordings announced a re-mastered and expanded 3 CD edition of the album, released on March 29.
