"Message from the Country" serves as the fourth and last studio album by The Move, also marking their sole release under EMI's Harvest label. Produced concurrently with the debut album of Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), known as "The Electric Light Orchestra" or "No Answer" in the United States, this album was more than just a musical endeavor—it symbolized a transitional phase for the band.
Originally conceived to fulfill contractual obligations, "Message from the Country" was intended to conclude The Move's journey and pave the way for their transformation into Electric Light Orchestra. Thus, while serving as a conclusion for one chapter, it simultaneously acted as the prologue to the next phase in the band's evolution, showcasing their readiness to embark on new musical ventures and explore fresh creative avenues.
