Ellen Foley

"Night Out" is the debut studio album by American singer and actress Ellen Foley. Released in June 1979, it incorporated a mix of musical styles, predominantly blending elements of pop and rock with a touch of disco. The album was produced by Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson, who are known for their collaboration with the rock band Mott the Hoople. The album's distinctive sound is characterized by Foley's powerful vocals backed by a rock-influenced band. One of the best-known tracks from the album is "We Belong to the Night," which made it to the Dutch No.1 charts. As a whole, the album reflected Foley's versatile vocal reach and capacity, and it served to establish her in the music world. Prior to the release of Night Out, Ellen Foley was mostly known for her collaborative work with Meat Loaf. She provided the female vocals for his hit single "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" from the album "Bat Out of Hell." However, it's important to note that despite the album's musical quality and Foley's considerable talent, "Night Out" did not succeed in making a significant impact on the U.S charts.
