Styx

"Greatest Hits" is a compilation album by the American rock band Styx, released by A&M Records on August 22, 1995. The album includes 16 tracks, featuring 8 Billboard Top 10 Pop Singles, 4 Billboard Top 40 Pop Singles, and 4 tracks that received significant airplay on FM album-oriented rock stations. This compilation served as a replacement for Styx's earlier greatest hits album, Styx - Classics, Volume 15 (1987), which had notably excluded the hit song "Lady" due to distribution issues. The song was originally recorded and released through Wooden Nickel Records, and A&M/PolyGram could not secure the distribution rights. To address this, most of the classic lineup of Styx (Dennis DeYoung, Tommy Shaw, Chuck Panozzo, and James "J.Y." Young) reunited to re-record "Lady" at Dennis DeYoung's home studio, The White Room. Session drummer Todd Sucherman, who later joined the band permanently in 1996, played on this track, which was titled "Lady '95." Aside from "Lady '95," the album features the original album versions of the other tracks. "Come Sail Away" is included in its full 6:05 version, and "Miss America" is presented in its original studio version, despite the CD's packaging listing incorrect time durations for both tracks.
