Squeeze

"Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti" is a 1985 album by the British new wave band Squeeze, marking their sixth studio album and their reunion after a hiatus. The album brought back together songwriters Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford with drummer Gilson Lavis and keyboardist Jools Holland (credited as "Julian" Holland). It also introduced Keith Wilkinson on bass, who became the longest-serving bassist in Squeeze's history, remaining with the band for over a decade. Produced by Laurie Latham, the album peaked at number 31 on the UK Albums Chart. The title of the album is a playful combination, referencing Mozart's Italian opera "Così fan tutte" and the Italian dessert tutti-frutti, as well as the Little Richard song of the same name. The album cover art cleverly extends this wordplay with images of a tea cozy (cosi), a fan, and a tutti-frutti dessert. In 1997, the CD version of "Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti" was reissued in the UK as part of the Six of One... box set, which included Squeeze's first six studio albums, all digitally remastered. This reissue was made available for individual purchase in 1998, allowing fans to revisit and collect the band's early discography in updated formats.
