"Phantoms" is the third studio album by the English new wave band The Fixx, released in 1984 by MCA Records. The album features the American hit single "Are We Ourselves?", which achieved notable success by reaching No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the fall of 1984. Additionally, the track topped Billboard's Album Rock Tracks chart, where it remained for several weeks. Its popularity was further boosted by a prominent music video on MTV.
The cover art for Phantoms was created by George Underwood, who had also designed the artwork for the band's previous album, Reach the Beach (1983). Underwood continued his work with The Fixx, contributing artwork for later albums such as Calm Animals (1989) and Beautiful Friction (2012).
