Boz Scaggs

"Boz Scaggs" is the second studio album by American musician Boz Scaggs, released in 1969 by Atlantic Records. The album features a diverse mix of genres, including Americana, blue-eyed soul, country, and rhythm and blues, with lyrics exploring themes of love, regret, guilt, and loss. Recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio with producer Jann Wenner, the album prominently features the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, including a young Duane Allman before his fame with the Allman Brothers Band. Upon its release, Boz Scaggs was largely overlooked by both listeners and critics, selling only around 20,000 copies in its initial years. However, those who did review the album praised the musicianship and the collaboration between Scaggs and the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. Retrospective reviews have since recognized the album as underrated, and in 2012, it was ranked at number 496 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
