"Anything Goes!" is the second studio album by American dance music band C+C Music Factory. Released in 1994, the album incorporates various styles including house, R&B, hip hop, pop, and soul, a departure from the band's previous work which was predominantly rooted in house music. It didn't match the level of commercial success achieved by the debut album "Gonna Make You Sweat", despite the presence of several innovative and socially conscious songs in the tracklist.
The album opened with the lead single "Do You Wanna Get Funky", which topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and reached number 40 on the Hot 100. The titular track "Anything Goes" is lauded as a socially-conscious anthem, discussing critical topics such as violence, drug abuse, and HIV. The deep, thoughtful lyrics of "What Can I Do (To Make You Stay)" and "I Found Love" reflect the band's musical growth, showing a more emotional and sensitive side of their craft.
In the creation of the album, original C+C members Robert Clivillés and David Cole collaborated with a range of guest artists, including Trilogy, Martha Wash, and Zelma Davis. Although the album was not as commercially successful as the band's platinum-selling debut, it showcased the talents and versatility of the C+C Music Factory, further spreading their energetic and socially aware dance music.
