Pink Turns Blue

Iconic post-punk and darkwave outfit Pink Turns Blue has released their new album "Tainted" via Orden Records. This album, crafted during the lockdown, showcases the band’s commitment to evolving their sound in their Berlin studio, where they focused on writing, recording, mixing, and mastering. Accompanying the album is the video for “Not Even Trying,” a poignant reflection on our planet’s decline. Tainted marks a notable shift for the band, incorporating electronic elements alongside their classical vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. The album's title speaks to pressing global issues such as climate change, societal division, isolation, health risks, and economic uncertainty. Currently, Pink Turns Blue consists of Mic Jogwer (vocals, guitar), Luca Sammuri (bass), and Paul Richter (drums). Originally formed in 1985 as a duo with Thomas Elbern and a drum machine, the band drew inspiration from acts like The Chameleons, Clan of Xymox, and The Cure. Their debut album, If Two Worlds Kiss, introduced dark undertones to their new wave sound, significantly influencing the darkwave sub-genre. Emerging from a divided Cold War Germany, Pink Turns Blue has since released 11 full-length LPs, solidifying their status as pioneers in the post-punk scene.
