Xzibit

"Restless" is the third studio album by American rapper Xzibit. It was released on December 12, 2000. The album marked a significant growth in Xzibit's popularity, and is his most successful album to date both in sales and critical acclaim, reaching gold status and receiving a Grammy nomination. The album was executive produced by Dr. Dre and features a broad range of collaborations, including artists like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Dr. Dre himself, and others. This helped provide diverse soundscapes for the 16 track album, ranging from the aggressive, hard-hitting beats Xzibit was known for, to softer, more melodic tracks. "Restless" produced three singles – "Front 2 Back", "X", and "Get Your Walk On". Among them, "X" charted the highest in the US, reaching 76th place on Billboard's Hot 100. Thematically, Xzibit's lyrics on "Restless" often focus on themes of fame and the struggles that come with it, reflection on his difficult past, as well as bravado and celebration of his West Coast lifestyle. This blend of personal reflection and boastful anthems gave the album a well-rounded feel and demonstrated Xzibit's skill as a lyricist.
