"Weapons of Mass Destruction" is the fifth studio album by American rapper Xzibit, released on December 14, 2004, through Open Bar Entertainment, Columbia Records, and Sony Urban Music. The album's production was a collaborative effort, with contributions from well-known producers such as DJ Khalil, Jelly Roll, Hi-Tek, DJ Battlecat, Denaun Porter, Mystro, Rick Rock, Sir Jinx, Thayod Ausar, and Timbaland, as well as additional production by J.R. Rotem. The album features guest appearances from artists including Strong Arm Steady, Jelly Roll, Busta Rhymes, Keri Hilson, Butch Cassidy, Suga Free, Tone Trezure, Truth Hurts, and Dee Ray. The album's promotion included the release of three singles: "Muthafucka," "Hey Now (Mean Muggin)," and "Criminal Set," with accompanying music videos for the latter two singles. Weapons of Mass Destruction debuted at number 43 on the Billboard 200, number 19 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and number 11 on the Top Rap Albums chart, with around 81,000 copies sold in its first week. On February 2, 2005, the album was certified Gold by the RIAA for selling over 500,000 copies in the U.S. However, by October 2006, Nielsen Soundscan data showed that the album had sold approximately 283,000 copies in the United States. Internationally, the album reached number 27 in both Germany and Switzerland, number 42 in Australia, and charted in several other countries, including the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, and France. In the United Kingdom, it peaked at number 85 on the UK Albums Chart, number 84 on the Scottish Albums Chart, and number 14 on the UK Hip Hop and R&B Albums Chart.
