Bee Gees

"Size Isn't Everything" is the twentieth studio album by the Bee Gees, released on September 13, 1993, in the UK and on November 2, 1993, in the US. With this album, the Bee Gees shifted away from the contemporary dance sound of their previous release, High Civilization, opting instead for a style that they described as a return to their sound before the era of Saturday Night Fever. The album reflects a more classic Bee Gees approach, contrasting with the dance-oriented direction of their recent work. "Size Isn't Everything" marked the Bee Gees' return to Polydor Records after completing a three-album contract with Warner Bros. Records. The album was created during a challenging period for the Gibb brothers. Maurice had recently overcome a long-term struggle with alcoholism, while Barry Gibb faced personal difficulties, including health issues for his wife and premature newborn daughter, as well as his own upcoming back surgery. Tragically, their father, Hugh Gibb, passed away on March 6, 1992, just a day after the birthday of their late brother Andy, who had died in 1988. The album is dedicated to Hugh Gibb, and its production began in 1992 amidst these personal and emotional challenges for the band.
