Bee Gees

"Children of the World" is the fourteenth studio album (twelfth internationally) by the Bee Gees, released in 1976 by RSO Records. The album includes the hit single "You Should Be Dancing," which topped the charts in the US and Canada and reached the top ten in several other regions. This album marked the first collaboration with the Gibb-Galuten-Richardson production team, who would go on to work together on many successful projects in the years that followed. In 2006, the album was reissued on CD by Reprise Records and Rhino Records. Following the end of their US distribution deal with Atlantic Records, the Bee Gees were no longer able to work with their previous producer, Arif Mardin. To maintain a similar sound, they recorded Children of the World at the same Criteria Studios in Miami. Initially, they hired producer Richard Perry, but after a brief period, they parted ways due to differences over the musical direction. The Bee Gees then decided to produce the album themselves, with Barry Gibb taking the lead role, alongside engineer Karl Richardson. They brought in young musician and arranger Albhy Galuten as a musical adviser. This new production team proved successful, guiding the Bee Gees through a series of top-selling recordings over the next four years.
