"Kings and Queens / Knaves and Thieves" is the eighth studio album by The Ocean Blue, released on June 21, 2019. The band, consisting of David Schelzel, Oed Ronne, Bobby Mittan, and Peter Anderson, recorded the album in various locations, including Minneapolis, Portland, Northfield, and Argentina. The album was produced by the band itself and mastered by Greg Reierson at Rare Form Mastering.
David Schelzel is responsible for lead vocals, guitars, and keyboards, while Oed Ronne contributes guitars, vocals, keyboards, and electric sitar. Bobby Mittan plays bass guitar, and Peter Anderson handles drums and vocals. The album also features additional vocals on the track Love Doesn’t Make It Easy On Us by Allison LaBonne and Charlotte Crabtree. Additional engineering on the track Frozen was provided by Michael Morris.
The album design was created by Matthew Taylor of Taylor Design Works, and the cover painting, titled The Sword, was done by Alfred-Pierre Agache in 1896, with the original painting housed at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
