"Everything Will Be Alright in the End" is the ninth studio album by American rock band Weezer, released on October 7, 2014. Produced by Ric Ocasek, who also produced their first two albums ("Weezer The Blue Album" and "Weezer The Green Album"), it marked a return to the band's trademark sound and its first release for Republic Records.
After disappointing feedback from fans and critics for their previous album "Raditude" and "Hurley", Weezer went on a hiatus to redefine their musical approach. The result was a mix of the band's classic power-pop sound, mixed with elements of progressive rock and pop music.
The album is organized around three core narrative themes: "Belladonna," which is about relationships with women, "The Panopticon Artist," about their relations to fans, and "Patriarchia," dealing with their relations to their fathers. These themes are tied together in the album's triumphant finale, "The Futurescope Trilogy," a three-song suite featuring some of lead guitarist Brian Bell's most impressive work ever.
Lead single "Back to the Shack" was released on July 22, 2014, and received positive response from fans and critics, who hailed it as a return to form for the band. The single "Da Vinci" was released in November of that year.
"Everything Will Be Alright in the End" received highly positive reviews from critics, with many praising it as one of Weezer's best albums. It debuted at number five on the Billboard 200, selling 34,000 copies in its first week. It also reached number two on Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart.
The band followed up the album's release with a highly successful tour, playing the album in its entirety, along with their greatest hits. It marked a turning point in Weezer's career, with many regarding it as their comeback album.
