Weezer

"Hurley" is the eighth studio album by American rock band Weezer, released on September 10, 2010. This album marks Weezer's only release under Epitaph Records. The production of Hurley was handled by Rivers Cuomo and Shawn Everett, and, like its predecessor Raditude, it includes songs co-written with external songwriters. The album was preceded by the single "Memories" and debuted at number six on the US Billboard 200, selling over 45,000 units in its first week. In late 2009, Weezer released their seventh album, Raditude, which received a lukewarm response compared to the band's earlier work. By December, it was announced that the band had parted ways with Geffen Records. Although the band planned to continue releasing new material, they were uncertain about the method—whether it would be self-released, distributed online, or through another label. Eventually, Weezer signed with the independent label Epitaph.
