Steppenwolf

"Slow Flux" is the seventh studio album by Canadian-American rock band Steppenwolf, released in August 1974 on Epic Records. It was the first of three albums produced after the band reformed in 1974, prior to their second disbandment in 1976. The album features the song "Straight Shootin' Woman," which was Steppenwolf's last Top 40 hit on the Billboard charts. The track "Children of the Night" reflects on the decline of the hippie movement and critiques President Richard Nixon. Bobby Cochran, nephew of Eddie Cochran, replaced Kent Henry as the lead guitarist for this lineup. The album also marks the final appearance of Goldy McJohn with Steppenwolf, as he was dismissed by bandleader John Kay in 1975. A horn section was featured on the album, contributing to its sound.
