Little Feat

"Little Feat" is the self-titled debut studio album of the American rock band Little Feat. The album was released in 1971 by Warner Bros. Records. The band was formed in Los Angeles in 1969 by Lowell George, previously a member of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention, and Roy Estrada. The music style of "Little Feat" incorporates elements of rock, blues, country, and folk, and it's characterized by its innovative songwriting and arrangement style. Despite critical acclaim at the time of its release, it didn't have commercial success, however, it established the band's unique blend of rock 'n' roll, blues, country, and folk music that marked their music in the years to come. Songs included on the album are "Snakes on Everything", "Strawberry Flats", "Truck Stop Girl" among others. The album did not chart on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Music critics generally agree that while this album shows the band's rawness, it nonetheless hinted at the potential of the band. The scope and depth of the songwriting and the distinctive sound that Little Feat developed fully over the subsequent albums can be glimpsed in this first outing.
