Mudhoney

"Superfuzz Bigmuff" is the debut album by Seattle grunge band Mudhoney, released on October 20, 1988, through Sub Pop. It was later re-released in Europe in 1990 as Superfuzz Bigmuff Plus Early Singles. The album's title references two guitar effects pedals, the Univox Super-Fuzz and the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff, which contributed to the band's distinctive "dirty" sound. The cover features a photograph of frontman Mark Arm and guitarist Steve Turner, taken by Charles Peterson, along with additional images of the band performing and posing topless. Turner regards the album as Mudhoney's first official studio release, despite its initial classification as an EP. The opening track, "In 'n' Out of Grace," includes a sample from a eulogy delivered by Peter Fonda's character in the 1966 film The Wild Angels. This sample was later used in Primal Scream's "Loaded" and appeared in the 2013 film The World's End.
