Mudhoney

"Piece of Cake" is the third studio album by the American rock band Mudhoney, released in 1992 as their first for Reprise Records. The album emerged during the peak of the grunge movement, which Mudhoney played a significant role in shaping. It reached No. 189 on the Billboard 200 and was supported by a North American tour, featuring singles like "Suck You Dry" and "Blinding Sun." Produced by Conrad Uno and the band at Egg Studios, the album was recorded in a single session for $15,000, granting the band full artistic freedom. Notably, four tracks allowed each member to explore their creativity individually, and "Youth Body Expression Explosion" served as an instrumental piece. The album was later reissued in 2003 and included in a 2020 box set titled "Real Low Vibe: Reprise Recordings 1992-1998." It marked the first Mudhoney album that bassist Matt Lukin was fully satisfied with.
