Bread

"Lost Without Your Love" is the sixth and final studio album by Bread, the American soft rock band. The album was released in January 1977 and features the single of the same name, which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band Bread was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1968, with the original lineup consisting of David Gates, James Griffin, Robb Royer, and later Michael Botts and Larry Knechtel. By the time "Lost Without Your Love" was released, the members had already achieved significant success on the music charts. "Lost Without Your Love" follows their established soft rock style. Frontman David Gates wrote the title track, which became the album's lead single. Other notable tracks include "Change of Heart" and "She's the Only One." While reaching the top 10 on the Hot 100, some critics and fans found "Lost Without Your Love", the album, to be less compelling than their previous work, resulting in comparatively lower sales. However, the album marks an important part of their discography as it was the last new music Bread would release until their 1996 reunion. Despite the band members going on to have solo careers and various other projects, in the cultural memory, Bread is particularly associated with their sentimental, melodious soft rock sound, epitomized in poignant tracks such as "Lost Without Your Love".
