"Uglier Than They Used ta Be" is the fourth studio album by American rock band Ugly Kid Joe, released on October 16, 2015. This marked their first full-length original album in 19 years, following "Menace to Sobriety" which was released in 1995.
The album marked a significant return for the band, which had disbanded in 1997 before reforming in 2010. The line-up of the group during the recording and release of "Uglier Than They Used ta Be" included original members Whitfield Crane (vocals), Klaus Eichstadt (guitar), Cordell Crockett (bass), and Dave Fortman (guitar), as well as new additions Zac Morris (drums) and Sonny Mayo (guitar).
The album consisted of 11 tracks and featured a number special guest musicians including Phil Campbell (of Motörhead) and Matt Starr (of Ace Frehley). The sound of the album was a continuation of the band's unique blend of hard rock, funk, heavy metal and punk, with the songs presented in an eccentric, humorous style - a signature trademark of the band's music.
In terms of reception, "Uglier Than They Used ta Be" was generally well-received by fans and critics alike, with significant praise for its energizing rock and roll edge and witty lyrical content. The band also went on a successful promotional tour for the album.
