"Paul Young" is the seventh solo studio album by English singer Paul Young, released in May 1997 on East West Records. This album marked a departure from Young's previous work, showcasing a stronger country influence. Unlike his earlier albums, "Paul Young" features significantly more songwriting input from Young himself, with eight of the twelve tracks co-written by him.
The lead single from the album, "I Wish You Love," achieved commercial success, charting inside the UK top 40. The album received positive reviews for its blend of country-inspired sounds and Young's soulful vocals.
Although "Paul Young" was Young's last album composed of original material for many years, it demonstrated his versatility as an artist and further solidified his status as a respected vocalist in the music industry.
