Yello

"Stella" is the fourth studio album by the Swiss electronic duo, Yello. The album was released on January 29, 1985, marking it as the first album by the band to chart in the U.S. The album's unique creative direction deviated from their previous synth-pop into more dance rhythms, leading to its success across different platforms. The album is renowned for the singles "Vicious Games" and "Desire", both of which became significant hits in the U.S. Another notable track on the album, "Oh Yeah", also gained immense popularity due to its usage in various media, most notably in the feature films "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "The Secret of My Success", television, and commercials. "Stella" was the first Yello album to be released worldwide and ultimately cemented the band's international status. The album allowed the duo to expand their creative palette and explore a more pop-oriented sound, ensuring commercial success while still retaining their distinctive style. The band members, Boris Blank and Dieter Meier, truly came into their own with this album, crafting tunes that were catchy, clever, and intriguingly quirky.
