Camouflage

"Bodega Bohemia" is the fourth studio album by the German synthpop band Camouflage, released on April 26, 1993, by Metronome. Following their previous albums' success, "Bodega Bohemia" symbolized a progression in their musical style, integrating elements of dance and house music into their ever-evolving synthpop sound. The album features 11 tracks, including the lead single "Suspicious Love," which gained notable success. Other prominent songs include "Close (We Stroke The Flames)" and "Jealousy." Unfortunately, "Bodega Bohemia" did not reach the commercial success that Camouflage's previous albums did. However, it is renowned for its creative daring and musically ambitious approach. In terms of background, by the time of Bodega Bohemia's production, band member Marcus Meyn had developed a substantial control over the songwriting and lyrics. The album is marked by its mature and occasionally darker tone in both its musical and lyrical content. The title "Bodega Bohemia" represents the influence of many different cultures on Camouflage's music denoting the idea of a meeting place for different ideas and influences, a theme that is clearly reflected in the album's diverse sound.
