The Walker Brothers

"No Regrets" is the fourth album by the American pop group The Walker Brothers, released in 1975. This album marked their reunion after an eight-year hiatus since their last album together in 1967. It reached number forty-nine on the UK Albums Chart and was notable for its departure from the group's earlier sound. Unlike their 1960s work, which often featured original compositions by Scott Walker and John Walker, "No Regrets" focused on cover versions from various contemporary songwriters. The musical styles shifted towards country and pop, though the arrangements retained the grandiose orchestration characteristic of The Walker Brothers' sound. The album's title track, "No Regrets," became a significant hit single for the group, backed with the non-album B-side "Remember Me." It reached number 7 on the UK Singles Chart in early 1976, marking a successful return to the charts for The Walker Brothers. John Walker's only new composition for the album was "Remember Me," underscoring the shift away from original songwriting. The subsequent album "Lines," released after "No Regrets," also primarily featured cover versions until Scott Walker resumed contributing original songs in 1978's "Nite Flights."
