Nitzer Ebb

"As Is" stands as an EP released by the Industrial/EBM group Nitzer Ebb, serving as a precursor to their fourth album, "Ebbhead." Released by Mute Records in the United Kingdom and Geffen/MCA Records in the United States, this EP showcases four tracks, each mixed by a different esteemed artist/producer. The EP kicks off with "Family Man," a track mixed by Jaz Coleman, the vocalist and frontman of the influential post-punk band Killing Joke. Notably, this track appears in a different form than its album counterpart on "Ebbhead," adding a unique twist to the EP. Next up is "Lovesick," mixed by Flood, who played a pivotal role in producing Nitzer Ebb's second and third albums, "Belief" and "Showtime," as well as the forthcoming "Ebbhead." The EP continues with "Come Alive," featuring a mix by Alan Wilder of Depeche Mode fame. Wilder's involvement extended to co-producing "Ebbhead," further cementing his influence on Nitzer Ebb's sound. Rounding out the EP is "Higher," mixed by Barry Adamson and PK (Paul Kendall), both notable figures in the music industry. Adamson, known for his work with Magazine and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, brings his bass expertise to the mix, while PK's engineering prowess adds depth and dimension to the track. Overall, "As Is" serves as a captivating precursor to Nitzer Ebb's "Ebbhead" album, offering fans a taste of the band's evolving sound and highlighting their collaborations with some of the industry's most respected artists and producers.
